  • Report details alleged roles of PTI leaders in attacks on military installations.
  • Elahi, Qureshi continue to face multiple FIRs related to May violence.
  • Report discusses involvement of Imran, accuses him of planning May 9 events.

ISLAMABAD: The names of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and Deputy Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi are notably absent from a cabinet committee report prepared by the caretaker government regarding the alleged incitement of violence on May 9, 2023.

The report, which was presented before the current federal cabinet, details the alleged roles of several PTI leaders in the attacks on military installations.

While it discusses the involvement of PTI founder Imran Khan and accuses him of actively planning the events of May 9, Elahi and Qureshi’s names do not appear in any capacity. Despite this, both leaders continue to face multiple FIRs related to the May 9 incidents.

The report highlights how dozens of PTI leaders allegedly incited violence, leading to what has been described as an unprecedented attack on state institutions.

The omission of Elahi and Qureshi from the caretaker government’s findings raises questions, particularly as both remain entangled in legal battles linked to the May violence.
