Following the explosion, police cordoned off the area and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

DIG Asad Raza, the chief South Range, confirmed that the explosion also caused damage to a vehicle belonging to the crime scene unit, with a broken window as a result.

He said that the bomb disposal unit was summoned to assess the situation, adding that the nature of the explosion was being determined.

Investigators said they had obtained CCTV footage of the incident, while the BDS staff had collected samples from the scene.

Further analysis of the samples from the bomb disposal unit is anticipated to clarify the nature of the device used in the attack.

Moreover, the investigators are also checking footage from more cameras so that they can identify the attackers and ascertain how they escaped.
