Slain PTI leader Zahra Shahid laid to rest in Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zahra Shahid who was gunned down here last night was laid to rest at a graveyard in Defence Phase IV on Sunday evening, Geo News reported.

Her funeral prayer was offered at Sultan Masjid which was attended by a large number of people, including, her family and friends besides PTI leaders, workers and office bearers.

Police said that the postmortem of the body of PTI leader, who was shot at and killed yesterday in Defence Phase IV by unknown motorbike riders, was completed this morning at Jinnah Hospital here.

Lady MLO Dr. Nasreen Qamar said that Zahra Shahid, 60 received two bullets fired from 30-bore pistol from a close range, while a bullet hitting the jaw pierced through her head and another one hit at the back.

Police further said that the two bullets out of four fired at Zahra Shahid hit her at the gate of her house.

SSP, Nasir Aftab said that the murder case of the incident could not be registered as yet, while the relatives of the deceased said that after burial of the murdered Zahra Shahid today FIR would be registered in consultations with the lawyers.
