ISLAMABAD: Senior leader and central party spokesperson Jan Mohammad Achakzai announced on Friday that he was quitting the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) over differences with some party leaders.
I spent a good time in the JUI and enjoyed the support and patronage of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, he said in a statement on social media.
Achakzai said that as a party spokesman he represented the party's position on every forum. He, however, said that some leaders in the party were unable to understand his views.
Speaking to Geo News, Achakzai accused JUI-F leaders Nur Mohammad Kakar and Mufti Abrar of creating baseless propaganda against him, owing to which he decided to quit the party.
