WhatsApp is set to roll out an improved sheet for emoji reactions in the app's chats, groups, and channels and it is already accessible for beta testers.
According to WABetaInfo, beta testers can explore this new and improved emoji reaction panel via the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.6.15 update, which is available on the Google Play Store.
The new interface refines the way emoji reactions are displayed across the app in a more organised layout, enabling users to quickly navigate through emojis.
In previous updates, and for those who still do not have access to this new feature, the popular Meta-owned instant-messaging app presented emoji reactions in a long vertical list which could become quite lengthy, especially in channels, where many users tend to react more frequently to messages.
The improved emoji reaction panel will now display four reactions per row, reducing the amount of vertical space required and eliminating the need to scroll through numerous reactions.
Additionally, the reactions in chats and groups will continue to be displayed in a vertical list format, showing the names of contacts who reacted to messages. However, WhatsApp has revamped the tab design at the top of the page, which gives the interface a modern and polished look.
This update highlights the distinct ways reactions are utilised across different contexts.
In channels, where follower identities remain private unless they are saved in the user's contact list, a new grid layout will showcase reactions.
On the other hand, in chats and groups, where user information is more relevant, the vertical list will be maintained with redesigned tabs for a more modern look.
The new sheet for emoji reactions will be rolled out to even more people over the coming weeks.
