WhatsApp Business introduces new branding icon in latest update

New icon currently appears only on WhatsApp Business while WhatsApp Messenger remains unchanged

WhatsApp Business has introduced a new branding icon appearing across various parts of the app, including the home screen, splash screen, and notifications.

Unlike the previous version, which featured a "B" in the center of the logo, the updated design now includes a plus sign.

This small but significant change appears to represent growth, expansion, and the broader reach of businesses using the platform, WABetaInfo reported citing the latest WhatsApp Business beta for Android 2.25.7.6 update, which is available on the Google Play Store.

While the overall shape of the icon remains familiar, ensuring it always stays recognisable to users, the fresh design for WhatsApp Business reflects a more global perspective, highlighting the role of the app in connecting businesses worldwide.

Despite the visual update, it's important to mention that WhatsApp Business has not changed its core functionalities. 

The tools that help small businesses interact with customers, streamline communication, and enhance productivity remain unchanged, as this update only focuses on refreshing the brand's visual identity. 

This means users will experience no disruption to their daily operations or communication processes.

It's also worth noting that the new icon currently appears only on WhatsApp Business, and the icon for WhatsApp Messenger remains unchanged.

The new branding icon across the business app is available to users who install the latest update of WhatsApp Business beta for Android from the Google Play Store. This update may be expected for iOS later.
