Altaf Hussain forms 23-member new MQM Rabita Committee
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has restructured his party’s Rabita Committee comprising a total of 23 members.

Altaf Hussain announced the names for the central decision-making committee of MQM during an extraordinary meeting of its general workers held here at Jinnah Ground near the party’s headquarters in Azizabad area.

According to details, Dr Nusrat, Engineer Nasir Jamal and Khalid Maqbool are the new deputy conveners of MQM's Rabita Committee for Pakistan while Nadim Nusrat has been appointed as the party's deputy convener for London.

Other members of the committee include Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Amir Khan, Yousuf Shahwani, Kanwar Naveed Jamil, Wasay Jalil, Nasreen Jalil, Mumtaz Anwar, Adil Khan, Khalid Sultan, Aslam Afridi, Mian Attiq, Nisar Panwhar, Mustafa Azizabadi, Tariq Javed, Muhammad Ashfaq, Tariq Mir, Muhammad Anwar, Qasim Ali Raza, and Syed Hyder Abbas Rizvi.

According to the MQM Chief’s announcement, Dr Nadeem Ahsan has been made the new In-charge and Irshad Kamali Joint In-charge of Karachi Tanzeemi Committee (KTC), which had also been dissolved like Rabita Committee by Altaf Hussain a few days back.

Ayaz Hasan, Hafiz Muhammad Sohail, Abbas Jafri, Kamal Malik, Arshad Sabil, Muhamamd Zakir, Aleem-ur-Rehman and Farhan Sabbir have been named as KTC’s members.

Former deputy convenor Dr Farooq Sattar has been made In-charge of the diplomatic and international affairs committee.

It was decided not to include Raza Haroon, Salim Shahzad and Asif Siddiqui in the new Rabita Committee of MQM. However, they will continue to work as party workers in their respective areas.

Anis Ahmed Khan Advocate was also set aside as member MQM Rabita Committee London on charges of violating MQM’s code of conduct.
