WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will notify everyone in a conversation whenever someone enables or disables the app's latest advanced chat privacy setting, scheduled for release in a future update.

This means that when a user in a chat, whether it's an individual conversation or group chat, changes the status of this feature, everyone in the conversation will be alerted, WABetaInfo reported.

For example, if someone decides to deactivate the advanced chat privacy feature, a notification will be displayed within the chat to let everyone know.

The popular Meta-owned instant messaging app's new feature ensures transparency, as all participants will be aware that the chat's privacy status has returned to the original settings, where users can choose whether to save media automatically to their device's gallery.

However, if someone activates the new feature, this will prevent any participant from saving media automatically to their device's gallery, adding an extra layer of privacy to the conversation.

Additionally, enabling this feature will also block the ability to export the entire chat history. Anyone attempting to export the chat will receive an error message, ensuring that the chat content remains protected.

Meanwhile, deactivating the new feature will restore the ability to export the chat history, this change will be made clear to everyone in the conversation through a notification.

The new feature to notify users when the advanced chat privacy setting changes is under development.
