ABU DHABI: In a grand diplomatic celebrations of Pakistan Day, the Embassy of Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates transformed a majestic Abu Dhabi hotel into a vivid tapestry of Pakistani culture. Illuminated with green and white hues reflecting the national flag, the venue stood as a beacon of unity, visible from miles away.
The event showcased the vibrant spirit of Pakistan through traditional music, stunning artwork, and cultural exhibits. The ceremony was graced by the distinguished presence of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, as the chief guest.
Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, addressing the gathering, emphasised the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and the UAE. “This day not only celebrates Pakistan’s history but also our enduring partnership with the UAE,” he stated. The ambassador also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to global peace, urging an end to hostilities and reaffirming support for the resolutions on Palestine and Kashmir.
Speaking with Geo News, Ambassador Tirmizi expressed his pride in presenting Pakistan's rich culture to the diplomatic and business communities. “On Pakistan Day, we have unveiled the beautiful colours of Pakistan to the world. Through music, a photo exhibition, and cultural displays, we have reflected the political and friendly ties between Pakistan and the UAE,” he said.
The ambassador added that foreign diplomats, mesmerised by the visuals, could not help but exclaim, “Pakistan is so beautiful!”
One of the highlights of the event was the launch of the book “Sheikh Zayed Maymar-e-Watan”, authored by Pakistani businessman Khan Zaman. The book celebrates the life and visionary leadership of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s founding father, and his profound friendship with Pakistan.
Speaking about the book, Zaman shared, “Sheikh Zayed’s generosity and wisdom left an indelible mark not only on the UAE but on Pakistan as well. His legacy continues to inspire the region.”
With tears in his eyes, Zaman spoke about the profound affection Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Khalifa held for Pakistan. “Sheikh Zayed taught the values of tolerance and service to humanity beyond boundaries of race and colour, creating a legacy that benefits the entire region to this day,” he remarked.
A standout feature of the evening was a photo exhibition by Rahim Kaithran, a native of Balochistan, who has traversed every corner of Pakistan to capture its untold stories through his lens. “Each photograph takes hours, days, or even months to perfect,” said Kaithran, who was specially invited by Ambassador Tirmizi to showcase his work. “Presenting the hidden beauty of Pakistan to the world brings peace to my soul, and the appreciation of the audience makes all the hard work worthwhile,” he added.
Irish entrepreneur Nevelyn Saeed, adorned in green nail polish and jewellery, expressed her admiration, saying, "Absolutely delighted to celebrate Pakistan Day and to wish Ambassador Faisal and the Pakistani community all the best. Pakistanis are fascinating and marvellous, and I’ve been attending these events for years." European guest Dott, wearing a green scarf and white attire, shared her joy, stating, “It’s an honour to celebrate Pakistan Day. This country is truly magnificent.”
The glowing celebration not only honoured Pakistan’s heritage but also highlighted its progressive journey on the global stage.
