QUETTA: As many as 21 members of seven crime rings involved in kidnapping for ransom and 8 other accused of car and motorcycle snatching group have been arrested here, police officials said on Tuesday.
Addressing a joint press conference, DIG Operations, Mubin Ahmed and DIG Operations Fayaz Sumbal told that some 8 gangs of criminals had been busted in various raids conducted in parts of the provincial capital.
Mubin said that 15 vehicles, huge quantity of arms, cash and stolen motorbikes were also seized during the operation.
He noted that chalan against 8 police personnel who helped fleeing of two hardened criminals from the PS Cant have been submitted in the court.
DIG Operations Mr Sumbal said that all out efforts were being made to ensure peace and make people feel secure. Action based on correct information has led to arrest of the criminals making law and order situation in the provincial capital.
To a question about security forces operation in Siplinji, Kabu and Dasht area, he said that reacting on the information of training camp and presence of outlaws, Levis force had conducted raid, which was assisted by Frontier Corps and Police. (AFP)
