QUETTA: Deputy Inspector General Operations Fayyaz Sumbal said that five alleged terrorists were killed in exchange of fire that took place between them and law enforcement agencies in Khrotabad area, here on Thursday morning.
Earlier, DIG Operations said that acting on a tip off about the presence of suspected people in Khrotabad area, law enforcement agencies personnel carried out a search operation during which exchange of fire took place. As a result two terrorists were killed and few personnel of law enforcement agencies were injured.
Later, talking to media once again, he confirmed that total number of killed alleged terrorists was five and said, "Yes, five armed men have been killed in exchange of fire took place between them and the law enforcement personnel and several LEA men also received injuries", adding that the dead and the injured have been shifted to hospital where condition of the injured LEA men was out of danger.
He said that police had information about presence of ammunition in the house where exchange of fire took place and added that this ammunition might be in huge quantity. "We are taking search of the house in this regard", he said.
The law enforcement agencies including Frontier Corps, Police and Balochistan Constabulary have cordoned off the entire area to trace the suspects. Further investigation was in process. (APP)
