Budget FY14: Government sets aside Rs25.7 billion for health services
ISLAMABAD: The government has earmarked Rs25.7 billion for National health services, regulations and coordination division in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for year 2013-14.

According to a budgetary document issued here on Wednesday, the
amount has been allocated by the government for completion of 17 on-going schemes and one new scheme.

Out of total amount, Rs28.199 million has been set aside for coordination unit for HIV/AIDS for Global Fund Islamabad while Rs11000.000 million has been allocated for National programme for Family Planning and Primary Health Care.

Under PSDP, an amount of Rs3633.589 million has been allocated for
Population Welfare Programme Punjab besides allocation of Rs2792.693 million for Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) control of diarrheal disease, National Institute of Health, Islamabad.

Similarly, Rs2082.373 million has been allocated for Population Welfare Programme Sindh while Rs1283.447 million has been earmarked for Population Welfare Programme Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The government has also allocated an amount of Rs684 million for Prime Minister's Programme for prevention and control of hepatitis and Rs124 million has been allocated for roll back Malaria Control Programme. (APP)
