ISLAMABAD: Oppostion members in the National Assembly have extended their full support to the government in its decision to try former president, General (retd) Pervez Musharraf for treason.
Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Syed Khurshid Shah said people rejected those who called the Constitution of Pakistan merely a piece of paper, a reference to former dictator general Ziaul Haq. Shah called for the removal of portraits of all former dictators from state buildings.
Following Khurshid Shah’s address, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi spoke on the floor of the National Assembly. Shah said the PTI would support every constitutional step taken by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
