KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples’ Party lawmaker Abdul Qadir Patel has demanded of the Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take notice of the killing of Saqib Boxer, who he said was shot dead by paramilitary troops in Lyari on Friday.
Addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Saturday, the MNA said that Saqib, a boxer and a footballer, was shot dead after being arrested by the Rangers.
He claimed that there was a lack of coordination between Sindh Chief Minster Qaim Ali Shah and the Rangers, adding that the CM was helpless.
Patel said; if we are ringleaders of Lyari gangsters, tell us then, who is the patron of Karachi gangsters. The PPP leader said that elections are stolen in Karachi.
He said that the Rangers had started extra judicial killings in Lyari, adding that the deceased was an international boxer and represented Pakistan in different countries. He said that Saqib was nephew of footballer Ali Nawaz Baloch who had won presidential award.
Saqb Boxer was killed in a shootout after the Rangers launched an operation in Nayabad area of Lyari following the gruesome killing of three people in Kharadar area of the city on Friday.
