Pak women qualify for ICC Women World T20 Cup
KARACHI: Pakistan women cricket team recorded a formidable nine-wicket victory against hosts Ireland in the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier on Monday in Dublin and qualified for the tournament proper to be held next year in Bangladesh.

Hosts Ireland batted first in the match and put on board a measly total of 65 runs losing all their wickets in 19.5 overs. Kim Garth played an unbeaten innings of 38 runs as none of her teammates reached double figures. Sadia Yousuf bowled lethally and captured a four-wicket haul.

Pakistan women in response easily reached the victory total in 14.1 overs with nine wickets in hand. Opener Javeria Khan played an unbeaten innings of 34 runs. Sadia received player of the match award for her four-wicket haul.

In the final, Pakistan would face the winners of the other semifinal match between Sri Lanka and Netherlands on July 31. (PPI)
