Pakistan celebrates Eid-ul-Azha today
ISLAMABAD: The nation is celebrating Eid-ul-Azha with great religious fervour and enthusiasm on Friday to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for peace, progress and well-being of the Ummah and Pakistan.

Eid congregations were held at mosques, Imambargahs, Eidgahs, and open places in cities, towns and villages across the country.




Islamabad and Rawalpindi

In the federal capital, the main Eid congregation was held at the Faisal Mosque.

The largest Eid congregations in Rawalpindi were held at the central Eidgah, Liaqat Bagh and Sports Complex.

Karachi

In Karachi, President Mamnoon Hussain offered Eid prayers at the State Guest House.

Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan offered Eid prayer at Polo ground in Karachi.

Lahore

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif offered his Eid prayers in Raiwind. The largest Eid congregation in the city was held at Badshahi Masjid.

Multan

Former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani offered his Eid prayers at the Musa park.

Quetta

In Quetta, more than three hundred Eid congregations were held in open places, parks, mosques, Imam Bargahs and Eidgahs.

The main Eid congregation was held at Eid Gah Toghi Road.

Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch offered Eid prayers in Quetta.

Peshawar

The largest Eid congregations in Peshawar were held at Sunehri Masjid and Qayyum Sports Stadium.

The federal and provincial governments have chalked out elaborate security plans.




People are now slaughtering their sacrificial animals in remembrance of Sunnat-e-Ibrahim after offering their Eid prayers.
