PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the government had included peace negotiations with Taliban in its list of priorities, Geo News reported.
In a statement issued a day after holding a crucial meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the government and Taliban are coming close for peace talks. A strategy had been chalked out in this regard, he added.
The JUI-F chief said that a forum of political and influential people will be made to hold peace talks with the Taliban, adding that this forum can begin negotiation within a month.
Earlier on Thursday, Maulana Fazlur Rehamn had met PM Nawaz and offered every possible help to hold peace talks with the Taliban.
He had said that Taliban do not trust the government and had urged the Prime Minister to build a forum to chalk out a strategy for holding the peace talks.
