PM Nawaz calls on President Zardari

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari applauded the government's decision not to call in Pakistan Army for maintaining peace in Karachi during a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who recently visited the metropolis in the wake of increasing violence.

President Zardari expressed confidence over the decisions to bring normalcy back to the city. During the meeting, which took place at the President House here on Thursday, both leaders agreed on cooperation between the federal and Sindh government to maintain peace in the port city.

Both the leaders expressed resolve to jointly work to strengthen democracy and democratic institutions and to resolve problems facing the country.
