ANKARA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will arrive here on Monday for a two day official visit.
During his visit, the prime minister will hold meetings with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul. According to PML-N sources, the prime minister will discuss matters of mutual interest, situation in Syria and the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan during these meetings.
The prime minister will also attend the meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council which was setup in 2009 to increase cooperation in trade, education, energy, communication and culture between the countries.
Several agreements are expected to be signed during the prime minister’s visit including MoUs on the Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Multan motorway bus projects.
The prime minister will also meet Turkish businessmen and not only speak with them about opportunities in Pakistan but also low-income housing.
During his visit, Prime Minister Sharif will also travel to Istanbul and address the Business Forum, along with meeting with heads of Turkish companies. Meeting with officials regarding solar and wind energy projects in Punjab are also expected to take place. The prime minister will also visit Turkish Aerospace Industries.
