MIANWALI: Major General Sanaullah Khan Niazi, who lost his life in an IED blast in Upper Dir was laid to rest in his home town of Mianwali on Monday.
The martyred General was buried in Daud Khel area of the city while his funeral prayers were offered at Chaklala Garrison. Services chiefs , interior minister and other senior military and civilians leaders attended the funeral prayers.
Niazi along with his right-hand man Lt. Colonel Tauseef and Lance Naik Irfan Sattar were martyred when they were returning from a visit to the Pakistan Army's front posts along the Pak-Afghan border on Sunday morning.
The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.
