14-times national champion, Pakistan's Mahmood Lodhi has won the 6th Asian Chess Championship 2015 being held in Larestan, Iran.
Lodhi sped to victory with an outstanding performance of 7 wins and 2 draws, said a press statement from the Mind Sports Association of Pakistan.
As a result of the victory, Lodhi now moves closure to the coveted Grand Master title, which will be confirmed after the matter is decided by the World Chess Federation (FIDE).
