KARACHI: Another dengue viral fever patient died in hospital in the city on Friday, increasing the disease death toll to 22 this year in Sindh province, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.
Mullick said a 26-year-old female, resident of Kalaboard, Malir Town, expired on 31st of October and case was reported to Dengue Surveillance Cell on Friday. He said she was admitted in hospital on 27th October for treatment.
He said total 20 dengue fever patients had died in Karachi, while two expired in Hyderabad this year so far.
He said three more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi, while two cases also detected in Hyderabad.
He said that a total of 3730 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of which 3217 were detected in Karachi and 513 in rest of Sindh province.
Dr M Shakeel Mullick He said all five cases reported across the province are inpatient.
Dr M Shakeel informed that 480 cases were detected in Hyderabad, six in Thatta, five in Jamshoro, Four in Sukkur, three Shikarpur; two each in Kambar, Sanghar; Dadu, Larkana and Kashmore and one each in Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze, Badin, Mirpurkhas, and Umerkot since January 2013. (PPI)
