KARACHI: Vice-Captain of Pakistan women cricket team, Bismah Maroof continued with her superb batting form and Anam Amin grabbed four vital wickets to help their side complete the whitewash of touring Bangladesh, winning the second one-day international (ODI) by 6 wickets here at the Southend Club Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Pakistan had won the first ODI by 20 runs at the same venue on Sunday as today’s result gave Pakistani girls an identical result from the two-match Twenty20 international series.
Bangladesh were restricted to a meek total of 123 for 9 wickets after their captain Salma Khatun opted to bat first on winning the toss in the last match of the tour earlier in the day.
Opener Ayasha Rahman top-scored with 39 runs while Nigar Sultana (30*) and Ritu Moni (28) gave some impetus to their team in the final overs as at one point Bangladesh were looking to fall below their lowest ever ODI score of 80.
Anam Amin and Asmavia Iqbal were the pick of Pakistani bowling attack with figures of 4 for 7 and 3 for 28 runs respectively. Sania Khan also grabbed a wicket.
Anum was given ‘the player of the match’ award for her impressive bowling spell that sunk the Bangladeshi batting line-up.
