LARKANA: All arrangements have been finalised in Larkana district to vaccinate over 296,000 children of up to five years age during the three-day National Immunisation Campaign of Polio which starts on Monday (October 12).
According to District Health Officer (DHO) Larkana, Dr. Abdul Fateh Bughio some 725 mobile teams will visit all the areas of the district including the far flung ones to accomplish the task.
Three roaming teams have also been constituted to cover children in Larkana city during the campaign while 36 transit polio teams will be available at Railway Station bus stops and various markets of the district.
The DHO said children of up to two years age would also be immunized of various diseases while pregnant women would be immunised of various diseases during the drive.
Dr. Fateh Bughio exhorted the parents to be cooperative with the visiting mobile polio teams to make the anti polio campaign a complete success.
He also urged religious scholars, elected representatives, NGOs and local community to make this campaign successful by involving their all possible efforts so that the children of the whole district could be immunised against this crippling disease.
