CNS International Squash C’ship from Dec 16

KARACHI: The Chief of the Naval Staff International Squash Championship will be held from December 16 to 23 at Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, Karachi under the auspices of Pakistan Navy.

This was announced by Commandant PNS Karsaz, Commodore Saeed Ahmed at a press conference.

He said that the event would be conducted in four rounds namely pre-qualifiers, qualifiers main-rounds and the finals.

Pre-qualifying and qualifying rounds would be played from December 16 to 19, main rounds on December 20 while the final will be played on December 23.

The prize money for the championship is worth US 15000.

Top seeded players like Nasir Iqbal, Farhan Zaman, Amir Atlas Khan and Danish Atlas Khan are participating in the event.

Besides, Pakistani players from UAE, USA and a player from Nigeria will also be competing for the title.

He said that Pakistan Navy has been continuously working to promote sports events in the country.

In this respect several national level championships of sailing, shooting and golf have already been conducted.

Players of Pakistan Navy also participate in International Championships and win laurels for the country, Commodore Saeed added. (APP)
