QUETTA: Security arrangements on the occasion of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) have been finalised by the provincial government here, Geo News reported on Monday.
Sources said that the Balochistan home ministry has already sent a memo to the federal interior ministry for the suspension of mobile service from 6.00 A.M. in the morning to 6.00 P.M. in the evening in the backdrop of high security threats on the occasion of Chehlum in Quetta.
Balochistan home ministry sources told Geo News that more than 5,000 personnel of police, Frontier Corps (FC) and Balochistan Reserve Police (BRP) would be deployed for the security of the Chehlum procession, while the Levies force would be posted on the mountains around the valley city. Besides, Pakistan Army would also remain stand-by at three vintage points in the city.
Balochistan home ministry sources further said that emergency would remain enforced in all the hospitals of the city on the occasion of Chehlum of the martyrs of Karbala. Doctors, paramedical staff leave has been cancelled and they have been directed to remain present on their duties without fail.
