LONDON: Former senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Saleem Shahzad on Thursday expressed his desire to relinquish politics in a bid to utilise his experience in some other area.

— Saleem Shahzad (@saleemshahzad6) October 15, 2015Once considered one of the most active mainstream politician of the party took to Twitter to announce the decision he was considering. Shahzad said this was his family’s wish and added that a ‘bright and peaceful Karachi’ was his dream.

The former MQM leader had previously spoken out against a ‘mafia’ in the party working against its chief Altaf Hussain.
