Lady Gaga has officially landed the role she once called her “next starring role”: mom.
The Grammy and Oscar winner has welcomed her first child with fiancé Michael Polansky, sources confirmed to People magazine and Page Six.
The happy news comes two years after the couple got engaged in April 2024. Gaga later revealed that Polansky’s proposal was every bit as personal — and slightly more cautious — than you might expect.
“He proposed to me right after my birthday, so my birthday passed and I was like, ‘Oh, I thought he was going to propose,’” she told Jimmy Kimmel in October 2024.
The couple had gone rock climbing when Polansky decided to make his move. But first, he apparently wanted permission to propose.
Gaga recalled, “We climbed to the top, we looked around, took some photos. And then went back down and we were just walking back to the room, talking. And he actually — it was very Michael — he asked me if he could ask me. He wanted to know if it was OK to propose before he proposed. And I was like, ‘Yes, it’s so OK!’”
Their relationship has also crossed into Gaga’s professional world. Polansky received writing credits on her 2025 Grammy-winning album Mayhem and on Glamorous Life, featured on The Devil Wears Prada 2 soundtrack.
But Gaga has been clear that music and movies weren’t the only things she wanted for her future.
During a 2025 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, she said, “What I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”
Now, the role is officially hers. And judging by Gaga’s own words, it may be her most anticipated one yet.
