PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced Rs5 million for martyred student Aitzaz Hasan’s family, Geo News reported.
Aitzaz, a class IX student was killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up in front of the gate of the government school. Aitzaz saved the lives of hundreds of other students when he prevented the suicide bomber from entering the school.
Aitzaz Hasan had been declared a ‘great hero’ by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government.

A Pakistani schoolboy who sacrificed his own life to save hundreds of his classmates by tackling a suicide bomber will have his school and a stadium named after him, officials said Monday.
Amjad Afridi, a senior adviser to the provincial government, told AFP: "We have decided to name Aitzaz Hassan´s school after him. We will also construct a sports stadium in Hangu and will name it after Hassan."
Afridi, along with another senior official went to pay their personal respects to the family of Hassan.
Imran’s annoyance
On Sunday, expressing his annoyance and displeasure with KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said the KP government had disappointed him, adding that the CM should have visited the residence of martyred student Aitzaz Hasan who sacrificed his life to save many students.
Talking to the media after visiting the residence of PTI Lahore member Neelam Ashraf whose son was gunned down a day ago, Imran said late Aitzaz is a national hero who sacrificed his life by blocking the suicide bomber who was on his way to target a school in Hangu.
Imran said the KP government should have issued statement over the incident and family of the late student and the chief minister should have visited his house. He also announced that his party would take care of Aitzaz’s family.
