Police prepare initial report of Peshawar cinema blasts

PESHAWAR: The initial report of the blasts at a cinema here on Sunday night which claimed five lives has been presented. In the report, police have blamed the management of the cinema for failing to provide adequate security.

According to the report, the attackers were present inside the cinema and hurled hand grenades in quick succession. The hand grenades were hurled at the seats in the front and in the middle of the cinema. Police said 100 people were present inside the cinema at the time of the attack.

According to police, the owners of the cinema had been advised to enhance security and install CCTV camera on January 16.

Meanwhile, a case was lodged under terrorism act, section 302 and other acts. It was registered on the complaint of SHO Khan Raziq police station.
