LAHORE: Pakistan will be the focus of a major international sports activity with the start of Punjab international sports festival from February 26.
In the first stage of the festival, Pakistan and Indian teams will lock horns in ten disciplines of the Punjab International Sports Festival 2014, said Director General Sports Board Punjab Usman Anwar while talking to APP here on Thursday.
Realizing the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, the International Festival is going to attract around 40 foreign teams in the events starting from February 26 he said.
Mat Wrestling, Arm Wrestling (Men And Women), Bodybuilding, Kabaddi, Cricket, Weightlifting And Tug Of War (Men and Women) events will be held during the Indo-Pak competitions, he added.
The organisers have scheduled trials for the selection of Pakistan’s teams for various events. Trials for Mat Wrestling will be held at Punjab College of Commerce on February 8 while trials for Arm Wrestling and Bodybuilding will be held at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall. (APP)
