ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall in the country eased to 2,200MW as the total generation on Monday was recorded as 8,800MW against the demand of 11,000MW.
According to data released by National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC), the hydel generation stood at 2,730MW, Thermal 1,390 and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) 4,680 MW.
The hydel generation also improved as the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has increased water discharge from both water reservoirs Tarbela and Mangla dams.
Meanwhile supply of 350 MW from Pakgen power plant has been suspended to the national grid station due to boiler tube leakage. (APP)
