Musharraf excused from court today, to be indicted on Friday
ISLAMABAD: The special court bench hearing Pervez Musharraf’s treason case excused the retired General from appearing before the bench on Tuesday as per its earlier directives. The retired General has now been ordered to appear before the bench on Friday to face charges.

During proceedings today the counsel for Pervez Musharraf, Ahmed Raza Kasuri argued before the bench that if his client comes to court as per directives and something happens to him, the court will be responsible.

After reviewing the threat alert by the interior ministry outlining the possibility of an attack similar to the one that killed former Punjab Governor Salman Taseer the head of the bench Justice Faisal Arab remarked that in light of prevailing security threats to Pervez Musharraf’s life the bench cannot order for him to be produced today.

The bench has ordered Pervez Musharraf to be produced on Friday. Additionally the bench has instructed for security arrangements to be made in light of the threats outlined by the interior ministry in its threat-alert.
