Peshawar, Quetta bombings leave 19 dead, 65 injured
KARACHI: Two bomb attacks on Friday in Peshawar and Quetta left 19 people dead while over 60 were injured. The suicide attack in Peshawar was followed by a time-delay explosion an hour later in Quetta.

Peshawar

Eight people including a woman and child were killed while 30 others were injured when a suicide bomber targeted an armoured vehicle near a petrol pump in the Sarband area neighbouring the Khyber Agency.

According to the bomb disposal squad 8-10 kilograms of explosives were used in the attack.

Quetta

Eleven people including two children lost their lives while another 40 were injured when a bomb exploded on Prince Road near Science College chowk in Quetta.

According to Police sources the bomb was planted in a bicycle and the target was a Frontier Corps vehicle. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) adds that explosives weighing 5 kilograms or more were used in the strike while a time-delay trigger was used for detonation.

Responsibility

The Ahrar-ul-Hind a splinter group that broke away from the TTP has claimed responsibility for the attack. Meanwhile the TTP has disassociated itself from the attack in Quetta & Peshawar with its spokesman Shahidullah Shahid stating that the TTP is adhering to the ceasefire.
