SC moved against Musharraf travel ban
ISLAMABAD: A petition was submitted in the Supreme Court on Thursday seeking removal of the travel ban on former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

Shah Jehan Advocate who made the Interior Ministry and federal government respondents, pleaded that Musharraf was a former president and chief of the armed forces and should be allowed to visit his ailing mother in Dubai.

He noted in his petition that Musharraf’s basic right of movement was being affected due to the travel restriction as according to basic human rights a person could move freely.

The petition comes a day after the Interior Ministry rejected an application seeking removal of Musharraf's name form the Exit Control List(ECL).
