Pakistan cueists off to Dubai for Asian Snooker
KARACHI: A three member Pakistan snooker squad left here on Friday for Al Fujairah en route Dubai to take part in 28th Asian Snooker Championship being played there from April 26 to May 3.

Pakistan trio included National champion Muhammad Asif Toba, Asjad Iqbal and Hamza Akbar.

While Asjad and Hamza had featured in Asian championships Toba will be making his debut in the continental championship.

The winner of the Asian champions should be offered a place on the Pro Tour for the next two seasons,. Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports announced.

Former Pakistan cueist Saleh Muhammad who had migrated to Afghanistan will be defending his crown in the championship which he won in Karachi last year.

Last years runner up Omar Al Kojah of Syria is also taking part in the event.

Also involved will be China’s Zho Xintong, runner up at the 2013 IBSF World Championship.

Prior to their departure, Toba said it is a great honor to feature in Asian and he was looking forward to his best. It is a big event for me and I am looking to make my mark there, he told reporters prior to his departure for Dubai. (APP)
