ISLAMABAD: Pakistan young tennis player Kainat Ejaz has been selected as a Youth Ambassador by Children of Peace (COP) a highly global NGO with an aim to give boost to its humanitarian activities in Pakistan.
"Becoming a Youth Ambassador is a great honour and I am certain you will represent our international organization with pride. We know that you will carry out your role with dignity," said the President and founder of COP Richard Martin in a letter addressed to Kainat.
COP is the single largest peace network in the Middle East with 150 groups in Ghana, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Oman.
Talking to APP, Kainat said that her selection as an ambassador of peace was a great honour for her.
She vowed to spare no effort in serving the vulnerable segment of society. It's indeed a happy day for me and my family. Now I can be called in anytime to perform my duties which would be a great honour, she added.
Born in Nowshera on May 15 1998, Kainat has featured in a number of national and international events and won laurels.
But besides having a great passion for the game of tennis, she has established an NGO - Kainat Welfare Organization (KWO) - with the major objective to help poor people and youngsters who cannot participate in sports due to shortage of resources. Due to lack of education and sports facilities, the youth indulge in unhealthy activities and social evils. My aim is to provide them a helping hand to get and provide them sports resources so that they may become responsible citizens, she added. (APP)
