AHMEDABAD: Hyderabad defended a low total against Rajasthan to win at the Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad in an IPL match.
Put in to bat after losing the toss, Hyderabad managed to get to 134/9 in their 20 overs, which looked like an easy target.
Hyderabad skipper S.Dhawan was the top scorer with 33 off 20 balls laced with seven boundaries. Irfan Pathan also played well for a run a ball 21.
S.Watson and R.Bhatia got 3 wickets a piece for Rajasthan for 13 and 23 runs respectively.
Rajasthan’s reply got off with a disaster as they lost opener AM Rahane with no runs on the board. They kept losing wickets and finally crumbled for 102 off 19.5 overs falling 32 runs short.
The only decent contribution came from SPD Smith who scored a slow 22 off 33 balls.
B.Kumar bowled some tight lines to finish with 4-14 off his quota. DW Steyn dismissed 2 batsmen giving away 31 runs.
