Obaid Shah wins Youth Talent Hunt District Kohat TT title

PESHAWAR: Obaid Shah clinched the trophy after defeating Haseeb Shah in the final of the Young Talent Hunt District Kohat Table Tennis Championship played at Sports Complex Kohat on Saturday.

MNA Shaharyar Khan Afridi was the chief guest on this occasion. MPA Zia Ullah Bangash District Sports Officer Kohat Sikander Shah Muhammad Faqir Awan officials and players were also present. In the single final Obaid Shah defeated Haseeb Shah by 3 2 in a thrilling battle wherein both the players stretched to five sets battle.

The score was 11 9 6 11 4 11 11 8 and 11 9. After the thrilling singles in the doubles categories Haseeb Shah and Zeeshan defeated Obaid Shah and Umair by 3 1 the score was 11 9 6 11 11 7 and 12 10.

In the Junior category Abbas outclassed Jamal Khan by 3 0 the score was 11 9 11 7 and 11 5. At the end the chief guest MNA Shaharyar Khan along with MPA Zia Ullah Bangash gave away trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners up. He also announced that in the next budget allocation would be made for the construction of jogging track.

He also announced Rs. 2 million for the construction of squash court in Kohat Sports Complex premises 1 million for the upgradation of football ground. MPA Zia Ullah Bangash also announced Rs. 5 million for various developmental projects.

MNA Shaharyar Khan and MPA Zia Ullah Bangash lauded the efforts of the organizing committee and District Sports Officer for organizing the event and expressed the hope that they would continue for holding such like activities. (APP)
