KARACHI: PTI Chief Imran Khan hurled allegations at Geo News creating the impression that the channels owner was controlling the newsroom via remote-control. Responding Geo News’ controller news Ansar Naqvi rejected the allegations adding that Imran Khan’s allegations have caused insult to professional journalists working in the newsroom.
Naqvi, a veteran journalist explained that any newsroom operates under a set mechanism which is similar in all newsrooms across the board adding that no one, not even the owner can control the newsroom round the clock.
Likening the newsroom to a train where passengers keep changing every 8 hours as the shift changes, Naqvi said, the decision makers change according to shift and news never comes with a warning. When a story breaks the controllers and editors discuss among themselves and when needed the editorial board is consulted, said Ansar Naqvi.
