ISLAMABAD: An awareness campaign on iodine deficiency disorders has been launched in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) for importance of iodized salt consumption to prevent from irreversible intellectual impairment.
The campaign was launched by The Network in collaboration with UNICEF with primary targets included female of reproductive age children and parents.
They will be approached by different influencers including large consumers of salt, female school and college teachers, healthcare providers, religious leaders and media.
Executive Coordinator of The Network for Consumer Protection Nadeem Iqbal said that Pakistan was an iodine deficient country and consumption of adequately iodized salt was inevitable to meet the daily requirement of human body.
