Imran will face defeat in 2019 elections: Rashid

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said on Thursday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan will also face defeat in the 2019 elections.

Addressing a seminar here, Rashid said after facing defeat in 2019 Imran Khan will once again level allegations of rigging. “Your actions will lead you to defeat in 2019.”

Rashid added that the government would not support Imran Khan’s demands of shutting down any media house. He further said the PTI chairman wanted to weaken the strong hands of the media.

The information minister said he wanted to see media in Pakistan being strengthened. He added that if a TV channel makes a mistake shutting it down is not the solution.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf said those holding protests and marches should wait for the next elections, adding the politics of the 80’s and 90’s would no longer work.
