RAWALPINDI: Section 144 has been has been enforced and all public meetings, rallies have been prohibited in the city starting Sunday, a day before the expected arrival of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief, Tahirul Qardi in Islamabad.
Rawalpindi DCO, Sajid Zafar said that with the imposition of section 144, holding public meetings and rallies besides carrying banners and party flags in the nearby areas of the airport are banned. He added that section 144 will remain enforced until Tuesday and during this period the use of loudspeakers and display of arms as well as pillion riding will remain prohibited.
Sources add, that all roads leading to the airport are likely to be sealed, however, passengers upon showing their boarding cards and other documents will be allowed proceed to the airport.
