PESHAWAR: Director General FATA Disaster Management (FDMA) Arshad Khan has been removed from his position.
The DG FDMA was removed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Abbasi for failure to provide adequate facilities to internally displaced persons (IDPs).
According to a government notification, the decision was taken by Governor Abbasi when he met with Chief of Waziristan Malik Nasirullah during his recent visit to Bannu. Nasirullah complained that IDPs were facing difficulties in receiving funds via mobile SIMs and several people have not been able to be registered.
Secretary Establishment, Abid Majeed has been given additional charge of DG FDMA until a new appointment is made.
