DELHI: Tennis star Sania Mirza in her tit-for-tat reply to BJP lawmaker’s statement on Thursday said she is an Indian and will remain so until the end of her life.
An MP from India’s ruling Bhartiya Jannata Party (BJP) had criticized the appointment of tennis player Sania Mirza as brand ambassador of the newly-created Telangana state, saying that she is married to a Pakistani man.
Sania Mirza chose to use her twitter account to make public her befitting response. She tweeted:
1. I am married to Mr. Shoaib Malik, who is from Pakistan. I am an Indian, who will remain an Indian until the end of my life.
