LONDON: UK Minister Sayeeda Warsi has resigned over the government’s policy on Gaza.

The British politician of Pakistani origin wrote on her twitter feed that she had tendered her resignation.




Warsi had been appointed to a foreign office post in 2012 and was also the minister for faith and communities.

She had previously been the chairperson of the Conservative Party and was appointed as the first female Muslim cabinet member in 2010.

Meanwhile, Leader of UK’s Labour Party and leader of the opposition Edward Miliband endorsed Minister Sayeeda Warsi’s stand over UK's policy on Gaza, saying ‘Warsi acted with principle and integrity’.
