LAHORE: Dr Tahirul Qadri is destined for jail, said Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashood on Friday.
During a news conference held following clashes between Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers and police, Mashood said terrorism and treason case would be registered against Dr Qadri.
Mashood added that Dr Qadri believed in the ‘politics of bodies’ and was instigating his workers to commit murder. According to the provincial law minister Dr Qadri wanted to subvert the country’s law and constitution.
Rashood alleged that people from outside the city were called to attack police officials, adding that a SHO was among seven policemen injured. According to Mashood individuals involved in attacking the police were being arrested.
