DALLAS: A prominent social worker and Dallas Fort Worth community activist Rizwana Shamsuddin Makhani passed away in a tragic road accident in Carrolton Texas.
Ms. Makhani was returning from Jamaat Khana prayers when her car went out of control and flipped over at a median near Frankfurt Avenue and I35 highway.
Local police informed of the sad news to her cousin and a prominent political and community activist Amir Makahani.
The sad news spread throughout the community where prominent community members and family members gathered to offer condolences to aggrieved family.
Late Ms. Makhani parents live in Karachi and wish to attend the last rituals of their beloved daughter.
Currently the body of deceased Rizwana Makhani is kept in a mortuary at a local hospital.
According to the plan, she will be buried in Ismaily Muslim graveyard at the arrival of her parents.
American Muslim Democratic Caucus Co-Chair. Syed Fayyaz Hassan, Aftab Siddiqui, South Asia Democracy Watch directors, Raja Zahid Khanzada, Dr. Pritpal Singh, Dr. Qaiser Abbas, Pakistan American Association President Dr. Amer Sulaiman, and Dr. Javaid Ajmal and several civic and community leaders offered condolences to Mr. Amir Makhani.
Rizwana Makhani had shown in her social work and the passion she had for the community will be greatly missed. The whole community is in grief on the sad and sudden demise of a great social worker and a great sister for the whole Makhani family.
