Attack on SSP Farooq Awan in DHA

KARACHI: SSP Farooq Awan came under attack in Defence, Karachi on Wednesday night as he was returning home. He had been on the hit list of banned terrorist organizations.

According to sources, an injured Awan was shifted to a private hospital in DHA but was discharged shortly after being treated for minor injuries.

SSP Farooq Awan has been heading the Special Investigation Unit that has been operating against banned terrorist organizations.

According to eye witnesses, Awan's convoy was targeted near the Gizri graveyard as he was heading home.



Sources at the Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Center confirmed one death and six injured being treated at the hospital. Sources confirm that a girl is among those injured.

Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan's (TTP) faction Jundullah has claimed the attack on SSP Farooq Awan's convoy.
