ISLAMABAD: Former captain Shoaib Malik deems to make a comeback in the 2015 World Cup saying this time he will play till the time he doesn t want to quit the game of cricket.
Malik who is currently in India with the Hobart Hurricanes (Australia) team for Champions League 2014 (CLT20) is hoping to make a comeback to the national team at the earliest.
“Well that is the aim at the moment”, Malik told CLT20’s official website.
The 34-year-old scored a 22-ball 45 not out in Hurricanes big win over Northern Knights in Raipur on Tuesday.
“I have been playing cricket regularly for Pakistan over the past three to four years but have been on and off the side for a lot of time. I get picked play a few games and then get dropped again which has been happening with me for quite some time now he expressed.”
Malik said this time if he gets picked he would have a word with the captain selectors and team management that he would want to have his fair share of chances.
“If I get my chances I will play consistently for Pakistan,” he said. Admitting that it was difficult to get back to the national team each time and start afresh this time around.
Malik said, “it is quite difficult to get back each time and start afresh.
“It has been happening quite often now and I am kind of used to it but this time when I get back I will play till the time I want to play and then say bye bye to cricket,” he said.
Malik said cricket is his passion and he is not someone who will stay in his room if don’t do well.
“I go to the gym listen to some music jump in the pool and talk to my family when I am in that kind of space,” he said. (APP)
